Don't feel so bad..I spent 400 bucks on my dress, 150.00 on the shoes, 20.00 for a shawl, another 20 for a effing strapless bra and god knows what on four pairs of stockings because I could not decide on what color would match the dress. Your chances of wearing your suit again quite surpasses my chances of ever wearing the ensamble ever again! Hey... but at least we'll all look great!

Sounds like a crazy weekend! Thank You again for having us for dinner...3 months is too long to go without seeing the kids. The pool was great and I'm sure the kids will get alot of use out of it this summer. I'm just sorry that the visit was so short..I wanted to see your new boat and catch up...but you know miss A and her "read me a story"..although I do love reading to her! :)

We only got a couple of inches of snow before it turned to rain by 9:30 am . Still it really sucked and I am so ready for Spring! Remember when we were kids we used to play "Roller Derby" in the basement by skating around the pool table as fast as we could. Maybe Miss A can bring her skates to our house on her next visit and skate in our basement like we used to. P.S. Snowing here right now... don't mind it so much unless I have to go out in it (which I don't today). Just finished putting a tree up in the kitchen (artifical). Looks good except we have to get more lights for it. I plan on decorating it with all of Grandma's ornaments she made over the years. We would love to see some pictures of your progress on the house. No Sign of Strawberry Meth in Maine

Augusta – Over the past week, a flurry of emails have been making their way across Maine. Spreading from concerned parent to concerned parent, the warnings have described a new form of methamphetamine called 'Strawberry Quick,' which is a strawberry (or fruit) flavored version of meth that the emails warn is being passed off as 'Pop Rocks' candy to young children in schools and on playgrounds in Maine.

According to Malory Shaughnessy, Coordinator for the Maine Alliance to Prevent Substance Abuse and the Maine Methamphetamine Prevention Project, this substance has not found its way into Maine. It has not been seen in the Northeast at all and it is not prevalent across the country.

“If this gets parents talking to their children about the issue of substance abuse, that is a good thing, as that conversation really needs to start at a younger age,” according to Shaughnessy, “however, the conversation should really include a threat more likely to actually impact Maine youth. That threat is underage drinking and the long term impacts it has on our young people.”

All Maine teens are at risk of underage drinking. The 2006 Maine Youth Drug and Alcohol Use Survey reported that 57.9 % of Maine students in grades eight through 12 have tried alcohol. All Maine parents can help keep their teens from drinking alcohol. Talking with your child about not using alcohol is the first step in prevention.

Unfortunately, these emails are causing unnecessary panic and concern for parents. According to snopes.com this warning email re-circulates every few months in a new location around the country.

On the federal Drug Enforcement Agency website it is noted that although “strawberry meth” has received extensive press in the mass media, there have only been a few actual instances of this drug found anywhere.
