Used Crap Projects and Update

As most of you know already, I like to find used crap and make use of it. Our t.v. came from the dump, our computer table came from the dump, the chair I sit at on the computer came from the dump, one of our high chairs came from the dump, we have a coffee table that either needs paint or should go back to the dump....the list can go on. I'm using the word "dump" pretty liberally since technically we are getting it from the swap shop which is basically a shed setup at the dump where people can leave useful stuff for others to take rather than throwing it in the land fill. I like to call it the free yard sale and my four year old daughter is really hooked. Everyday I pick her up after work she asks, "is the dump open!"........hmmmm not good, right?

Today's finds yielded three small fishing rods and a cheap patio chair that matches our other cheap patio chairs. Not quite as good as finding a 32 inch stereo picture in picture capable t.v. with remote and users manual, but hey, not everyday can be as fruitful as the last at the old swap shop.

On another note, my old flame from facebook continues to message me, mostly cause I keep messaging back. She still is very nice and has had some hard times over the years. I wish her the best. Losing a three week old baby is something only few of us have to experience and the years do not erase the pain. Failed relationships and single parenthood while all too common is still amazingly challenging. Who knew that the divorce rate would hit the 50 percent levels that we sit at today? Jeeezzz.....Despite some of the troubled past, the years have gone by and it seems that my old friend has done many things right and raising a thirteen year old daughter on her own seems to be one of her many successes. In the end I was really glad to catch up and hope she is safe all the way out there on the west coast.......which reminds me, god I miss Seattle sometimes.

The lovely wife and I will have the privilege of attending my sisters marriage ceremony and reception in a couple weeks. My little girl will be the flower girl and if all goes as planned, may be walking down the isle with the son of someone who has been much fodder for the paparazzi over the years. I will not reveal the names but let me just say, "would you like to play a game?"

Well good night river folk....nice to chat again. Have a great Friday tomorrow.

By definition: swap- to exchange, barter, or trade as one thing for another, to make an exchange. Just sayin' :)

In my defense: I can't help myself....that's all I'll say for now.
